and here comes page two of two!

I have a really hard time writing these deeper / more political / etc The Adventures of Blobic comics, because the TAoB art and writing styles that I can sustainably manage are very simple and concise, and I’m really worried about losing too much important nuance when I try to condense bigger ideas into such small pages. obviously “how to ethics” and “how to ideological conflict” are huge questions that many many people have been exploring and debating in great depth for many millennia!! and therefore I worry that I’m oversimplifying things, and/or not adding much of value to the conversation with my silly little doodles. but at the same time, I use these silly little doodles as a way to explore and share what’s important to me during any given week, and comics are a friendly and accessible way for many people to engage with topics that might otherwise feel too serious or academic or otherwise intimidating, and I bet there’s at least some people out there who will resonate with them and find them meaningful! so I’m gonna keep doing them for now :3

Blobic: no!! don’t kill them!!
other person: why??
Blobic: they’re wildlife! I’m not gonna hurt the wildlife! or have them hurt on my behalf
other person: they’re fictional wildlife
Blobic: yeah, and I’m not a fictional wildlife murderer

but I find that ideological conflict — and really any conflict — tends to go much better when we’re less focused on figuring out who’s “right” and who’s “wrong,” and more focused on figuring out where we agree, where we disagree, and what we can do about it!
[two crowds of people stand on opposite sides of the panel, each holding signs and flags. Blobic sits on the ground at the edge of one crowd, holding a sign that says “PROTECT TRANS KIDS” with a heart drawn at the bottom, while another person, looking anthro-hedgehog-esque and wearing a traditionally femme outfit, sits at the edge of the other crowd, holding a sign that reads “STOP THE TRANS AGENDA”. Blobic and the other person are facing each other and holding a conversation across the gap in between them.]
other person: I just want kids to be safe and to feel good about themselves
Blobic: I know. I do too
